What is a credit report?
A credit report can consist of information for both consumer and commercial credit information. Some of the information it can include is your gender, current or previous residential addresses and information about your employment, name, date of birth and drivers license number. It may also include any credit applications as well as any details of overdue or unpaid accounts or any serious credit infringements.
Does having too many enquiries on my credit file affect my chances?
Depending on the financier it definitely can! So many people come out of a Debt Agreement or Bankruptcy and simply try to apply online. Thinking that they now are fine to apply for credit again. Did you realise by simply having even a small paid default on your credit file can be enough of a reason to be declined by an online application system! every enquiry is usually listed on your credit file for up to 5 years. Why take the chance?
What is a default?
A default can be any overdue account that you have had. Usually after unsuccessful attempts to receive payment the account provider can ‘list’ with credit reporting agencies your unresolved account. It is basically a ‘black mark’ against you. Depending on the seriousness of the default it can remain on your credit file for up to 7 years.
What is a debt agreement?
A debt agreement is a binding agreement under Part IX of the Bankruptcy act 1966 between a debtor and their creditors where creditors agree to accept a sum of money which the debtor can afford. You should seek independent legal advice before entering into a Debt Agreement. A Debt Agreement can remain on your credit file for up to 7 years! Proposing a debt agreement is an act of Bankruptcy!
Can you help everyone re-establish their finance?
